Silvicultural Requirements of Seedlings of Buchholzia Coriacea Engler (Paperback)

Plant domestication has the potential of broadening the range of food, medicine and other products available to man. Buchholzia coriacea is a wild medicinal plant with unregulated exploitation. The move for its domestication is predominantly important because of the increasing rate of deforestation and the decrease in the wild populations and sources where this species could be obtained. This study provided information needed for understanding its propagation/ cultural requirements culminating in successful domestication, regeneration and growth. The study should help shed some light on the domestication of indigenous tree species of Africa. It should be especially useful to professionals in Forestry, or anyone else who may be considering establishment of clonal forestry for this indigenous tree species.
