Andy Wood's previous book, Wirral Worthies, told the stories of some of the most well-known individuals associated with the peninsula. But in Hidden Lives of Wirral he celebrates the lives of thirteen Wirralians from the 19th and 20th centuries, some of whom died well stricken in years, while a smaller number could be said to have died before their time. Not all of their names will be instantly recognisable to the reader, but their achievements deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
