Not illustrated. 1856 edition. Excerpt: ...23 32' of ft, where the Trine falls, is 13 42'. To find the Ascensional difference: Tangent of 51 31' 1009965 Tangent of Declination. 13 42 938699 Sine of Ascensional diff. 17 51 9.48664 The Right Ascension of 23 32' ft is 145 53'; now as the Declination is north, we must subtract the Ascensional difference from the Eight Ascension 145 53' _ 17 51' = 128 2'; the Oblique Ascension of 23 32' ft, the Oblique Ascension of the horoscope is (the R. A. of Midheaven 33 13' + 90 =) 123 13'; this taken from 128 2', the Oblique Ascension of the aspect, = 4 49'--the Arc of Direction of the Ascendant to the Trine of Mercury. To find the Arc of Direction by Semi-arcs say: --As the Semi-arc of the Sun is to its Meridian distance, so is the Semi-arc of the place of the aspect to its secondary distance. The sum or difference is the Arc of Direction. Direct the Sun to the Conjunction of Mercury. We must here first find the Semi-arc of the aspect 23 32' T; on referring to Zadkiel's Tables, we find 23 32' r has 9 8' north Declination; then to find the Ascensional difference on the Pole of the country 51 31' long, tangent 10.09965--the tangent of Declination 9 8' 9.20621 = 9.30586 sine of Ascensional difference 11 40'; this, added to 90, as the aspect is above the earth and in north Declination, = 101 40'. Semiarc of 23 32" r. As the Semi-arc of the Sun 98 47' (A. C.). 97394 is to the Sun's Meridian Distance 17, .. 1.0248 so is the Semi-arc of 23 32' r 101 40.. 248 L to...
