As special indications for the suprapubic operaation he gives cases of lithotomy for large hard calculi; also in lithotomy occurring in a patient suffering from paraplegia; a contracted pelvis; perineal tumors; encysted calculi; anchylosis ot the hip; haemorrhoids and great obesity. Also, for the removal of certain foreign bodies, as hair-pins, bodkins, needles, etc.; for the treatment of chronic cystitis, and for the operation for calculi in the female. In lithotomy occurring in a patient with greatly enlarged prostate, or with fibroma of the prostate, or in calculi found in a diverticulum behind the prostate. For the excision of tumors of the bladder, and for ruptures of the bladder. Dr. Dennis has collected one hundred and twenty-four cases of this operation. There were eighteen deaths; of these there are only eleven that can be directly ascribed to the operation itself. Dr. Dennis ventures theremark that the time is not far distant when there will practically be but two operations for stone in the bladder, the suprapubic lithotomy and htholopaxy. Dr. Boehondt in the Medical Summary says of iodoform in venerealdiseases that it is not of the least use in the treatment of gonorrhoea inflammation. That iodoform is beneficial in ulcers and erosions of the vaginal portion of the uterus, the result of cervical gonorrhoea. Iodoform should be regarded as a specific against the vims of soft chancre, and is the best, surest and most rapid means of treating all sorts'of soft chancres. Suppurating inguinal buboes are best and most surely treated by iodoform, especially after the method of Petersen.
