Mahanoy Creek, known locally as Coal Creek, is a tributary of the Susquehanna River in the Coal Region of east-central Pennsylvania in the United States. nMahanoy Creek rises in the anthracite coal fields of Schuylkill County and joins the Susquehanna River near the borough of Herndon in Northumberland County. The Frankstown Branch Juniata River is born on the slopes of the Allegheny Front south of Altoona, is joined by the tributary Clover Creek in Cove Forge, and Piney Creek near Williamsburg, Pennsylvania. It joins the Raystown Branch Juniata River near Ardenheim.
