The Cornaro Institute - An Introduction (Paperback)

The Cornaro Institute is a new start for art in Cyprus. It builds on two legacies. The first is that of Queen Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus and one of the greatest patrons of art in the Italian Renaissance. And the second is the Cyprus College of Art, founded by Stass Paraskos in 1969, and one of the most original, creative and well loved spaces for international artists ever created.On these two foundation stones a new organisation, the Cornaro Institute, is being built which aims to establish an international community of artists, leading cultural figures and lovers of art. In this introduction to the Cornaro Institute, published to mark its foundation, we set out what the Cornaro Institute is, what it will do and why it is needed.
