Amy's Home (Paperback)

How well do we know our parents, and what do we really know about their lives before we were born? What secrets lie buried in their distant past or remain tucked away in the dark recesses of their minds? These were the very questions that John Allan found himself asking when he and his wife returned to America, after spending many years abroad in England, to attend the funeral of his father and care for his mentally ill mother. It all began on the drive from the airport to his parents' house, when a little, dark-haired girl suddenly ran out in front of their car. They missed hitting her by mere inches. Over the course of the next several days the little girl kept mysteriously appearing to them, until it became obvious that she was the spirit of a young child who had died. It also became quite obvious that his schizophrenic mother held some curious clue to the accident inside of her tangled, confused mind, and that clue had something to do with his family. "We all are responsible for the truths we leave behind," his mother told him. But the truth that John Allan would discover would lead him down a path of lies, deception, and murder before it was finally revealed, and the spirit of a little, dark-haired girl named Amy would be his guide along the way.
