Novel Therapeutic Strategies in the Treatment of Sepsis (Hardcover)

This work examines current research efforts and preclinical approaches in the treatment of sepsis. Emerging ideas on mechanisms of combatting septic shock are discussed, and novel methods are offered for interrupting System Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) that lead to sepsis. A variety of new therapeutic procedures are explored, including the use of cytokines, monoclonal antibodies, and pharmacology mediators and inhibitors that block endotoxic activation of host systems.
