Librarian Annual Report 1913 The Annual Report of the Library for the fiscal year 1912-13 has been published, and copies may be obtained by any adult on application. The report shows that in spite of the continued handicap of insufficient appropriations the year under review shows an increase in amount of work done, and an improvement in quality of service to the public The Congressional appropriation for the year was $4,140 less than for the year previous, yet there was an increase of $lA PC cent in the circulation of books. The report shows the need of much larger appropriations in order to enable the Library to render to the public the fullest measure of efficient service. Resignation of Dr. Davidson By the departure of Dr. William M. Davidson to become Superintendent of Schools of Pittsburgh not only does the District of Columbia lose its School Superintendent, but the Public Library loses from its Board of Trustees a highly esteemed member.
