DNA Strings - Nomad (CD)

After the success of El Nino, the band went into the studio early December 2004 to record a pre-recording demo at the Conserve Studios in Stellenbosch under the watchful eye of Helmut Meijer from Merchant Records. The pre-recording went on tour with the band in December to give them time to listen to the songs and change anything they disliked, or add some flavor. Most of the songs were also being played live to hear if all of the arrangements worked with an overwhelming response from their fans!

After a much-needed summer-break the band got together middle January to start the recording of their third CD. It was soon evident that the bands sound and recording techniques have grown tremendously since first going into the studio. The sound this time round is fuller and fatter.

The band decided to call the CD Nomad to symbolize their journey as a band here and abroad. It was also chosen to symbolize how the music has grown, or moved from where it was a couple of years ago to where it is today.

Most of the songs were written and arranged by the whole band with only a couple of exceptions. They recorded their own version of Toss the Feathers - a traditional Irish Folk Song, which have also been recorded by The Corrs. Caravans, the theme song of the movie Caravans, were recorded due to public demand. An Afrikaans Folk Song Medley was also recorded.

And then for the first time the band recorded a song with vocals (from the Libertas Choir) on it The Click Song.
