Cipher (Paperback)

,
Oscar spent his entire life spinning his wheels but on that fateful morning of September 11th, he stepped out of the North Tower, sneaking away from his humdrum job, and as he sat down to eat, the skies opened up and the world was brought to a halt. In the midst of chaos and confusion he fled ground zero to seek refuge and absorb the tragedy. It is at this out of the way bar he meets Murphy Tucker, a modern day outlaw with the wind at his back and a peculiar smile on his face. The two men strike up a partnership that begins on opportunity and will ultimately end in darkness. While examining the brutality of America's worst tragedy they develop a plan that if done flawlessly, will capitalize on Oscar's apparent demise and allow them both to start new lives and bury old ghosts. Their window is small and the timing has to be perfect in order to cash in on the worst attack to ever reach American soil. What the two men fail to realize is that shortly after their plan takes its first steps, one of the hardest nosed and best dressed U.S. Marshall to ever wear the badge is only footsteps behind them.
