The story of a town and its people caught up in violence and manipulation of a system that was ruled by one man. When they could take no more, they rebelled against the tyranny and recap tured their lives. The retribution they took against those who had enslaved them and the effort the people put forth to rebuild their lives is what makes up the basis for the story. The people involved are constantly forced to decide what values they want to nurture and what to disregard. They are forced to change their values to rid themselves of their oppressors.
