You, gentlemen, Agriculturists and Ma chants, shall promise that you will take no notice of n felonious and cut-throat proceedings, and I, on my par, will pledge my honour not to intermeddle in the affiifl of your farms or counting-houses: and suppose they wei to shake hands, complete the hargain, and ratify an i: dissoluble union of Agriculturists, Merchants, and Hip way robbers I would the world hold the farmer or ti:: merchant guiltless? Mr. BJiadsaid much of the purio and emancipation principles of Massachusetts and Ne1 Hampshire and Maine. How came it to pass, then, tin they were in terms of such close and cordial fellowship with South Carolina, and Georgia, and Louisiana, 'anJs ready to mob, stone, and outlaw those who deemed: their duty to cry aloud on behalf of the oppressed? To return to his own mission. He would never condescend U apologise for speaking the truth. He had a Commission direct from the skies, to rebuke sin and compassionad suffering wherever on the face of the earth they existed.
