Nicholas John Burton (born 10 February 1975 in Bury St Edmunds) is an English former professional footballer. He plays as a central defender and played in the Football League for Torquay United. He currently plays for Walton Casuals. Burton began his career as an apprentice at Portsmouth, but on failing to win a professional contract at Fratton Park, he joined Torquay United in February 1993. He scored on his league debut on 31 August 1993 as Torquay drew 1-1 at home to Carlisle United.
