Together a group of practitioners and academic scholars, working on
a range of disciplines such as psychology, history, philosophy,
literature, social work, nursing, anthropology, the arts, film,
media and cultural studies, gathered to share their thoughts and
ideas on madness. Despite the great diversity of disciplinary,
cultural and experiential perspectives presented during the event,
the group managed to create and sustain a friendly, inclusive and
creative atmosphere that gave place to constructively critical
dialogues between the participants. Together, these authors created
