The collection included also photographs of the Harvard memorial window in the chapel of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and the Harvard monument on Burial Hill, Charlestown; the record of the marriage of John Harvard's mother and father; and three signatures of John Harvard from the Emmanuel College admission book, a book in the Emmanuel College library, and his signature for the M.A. degree at the Registry in the University of Cambridge. "The Christian warfare Against the Deuill World and Flefh," the only volume known to have been in John Harvard's library and to have survived the fire of 1764 when all the other Harvard books were destroyed, was placed on exhibition, together with an original copy of "New England's First Fruits," (1643), which includes the first printed account of the founding of the College and the first mention in print of John Harvard's name. THANKSGIVING DAY ENTERTAINMENT Thanksgiving Day was celebrated at Phillips Brooks House by an informal entertainment and reception in the evening. Dean Greenough made a short speech of welcome; M. H. Dill, 1 S.L.A., sang several songs; Miss Margaret J. Penick of the Emerson School of Oratory read; a group of men from the Harvard Glee Club sang; and a prestidigitator performed a series of tricks. Refreshments consisted of doughnuts, cider, nuts, and candy.
