I picked this TV up on another site for about R15 000 after it was discounted from R35 000; it definitely has the look and feel of an ultra premium TV but the experience of using is not. The fact that the unit keeps getting discounted is worrying. Some of the frustrating issues I've experienced in the 4 months I've owned mine: THE BAD: The smart feature of this tv is not very smart; the app selection is very small although you will get YouTube and Netflix which is enough for most. Despite the research I've done, there is no plan to update the firmware which means you won't be able to able to add any more good apps via the TV's Opera store. The quality of most of the available apps and their response rate is questionable. The built in media centre is very problematic - most formats will be played but you WONT have the ability to pick the screen mode and most of your media will be uncomfortably stretched out. To make things worse, there's a bug where media is not arranged alphabetically which makes it a pain to navigate through you hard drive. If you're just going to watch satellite TV or Netflix you won't find this too bad though. THE GOOD: The design of this TV and its 4K ULED screen and built in sound is quite impressive though. Very crisp and impressive. I really like that the TV has built in 4K streaming capability so Netflix and Youtube can be watched at the highest quality. The TV's default frame rate settings and colour saturation (especially with 4K content) is VERY high so be prepared to bring this down a bit; annoyingly this needs to be done on every input separately. VERDICT: Honestly, most users would be better off paying the same amount (or less) for a solid Samsung tv; the user experience will be better and crucially the firmware support will make life easier. More design/performance driven users will need to be very forgiving to really get the best out of this unit. I will also point out that you will get a 4 year year warrantee for the TV which is very decent.
