This is the best cookery book ever... and the only one I have purchased that is hard cover! It is so good that I think I need to buy another copy to actually use (and cover with plastic wrap so I don't get the cover marked from it being in the kitchen all the time). The first copy is destined to be my first cookbook coffee table book - it is just that good. I have spent hours just reading the book... I am amazed and humbled by the amount of research and information that is in this book. I have only had the book for a few days but have already made several dishes - all amazing (chickpea cutlets for dinner last night... yummy!) The authors' other two books (Vegan with a Vengeance and Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World) are great but this is the ultimate... I cannot imagine how they could get any better than this. Buy it for yourself (remember you might want two copies), buy it for your friends, buy it for your local library - they also need a copy... but buy it now!
Great reference book that will give you ideas, techniques and convince your taste buds that Vegan cooking is nice and easy. Measurements are by US standards. A few off-the-shelf ingredients are not exactly the same here in South Africa but we have so many choices and alternatives of quality ingredients available that it's not a problem at all. Expect to be impressed with the results of cooking Vegan style in South Africa with this book!
