It is a member of ARAZPA and has had some success in breeding programs for endangered species, including the Snow Leopard, Cotton-top Tamarin, Red Panda, and Sumatran Tiger. It is also the only zoo in Australia along with the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra to hold white lions. Unlike most small Australian zoos, Mogo Zoo focuses on exotic species.
