The first century AD was turbulent. Rome governed most of the known
world, and in Britain a Roman governor struggled to control the
many war-like tribes. Out of this tumult, we meet two tribal queens
of different temperaments, each fated for a different destiny. The
strong personalities of Cartimandua and Boudicca are based on
recorded history and bring a long past era to life. When Queen
Boudicca falls foul of greedy and callous Roman officials, she
suffers the terrible consequences of the time. Her terrible anger
and thirst for revenge leads to a cataclysmic revolution. Leading
an army of 100,000 she burns many cities, including London.
Excitement is generated among the Britons when at first she seems
to vanquish their oppressors, but this does not last as the
military governor manages to defeat her mighty army.
