Charlie Macaffee (Paperback, UK ed.)

Charlie is a homeless child. With no known family he quickly learns about survival on the streets of London. While sitting on the curb, alone and hungry, he finds a ring lying on the ground. He decides to sell the ring, but before selling it he decides to give it a final polish. The head of a genie appears and tells Charlie that he will grant him three wishes but first he must successfully find the genieas body, which has been hidden by a wicked wizard. To find the body Charlie must complete certain tasks. Each task successfully completed gives the genie one part of his body; however, if he fails at any time, then he becomes trapped and the genie loses his body again until somebody else can be found to complete all the tasks. The only help Charlie has is a small creature called Cush-One.
