The school is the newest in the Oxnard Union High School District. The school is located in a suburban residential area, part of the sub-community of West Village, which also includes an elementary school, a junior high school and 3,100 homes. The 2008-2009 school year enrollment is nearly 3,150, around 1,350 more than its original capacity of 2,500, making it the most popular school in its district. The school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
