Sam Shilton (born on 21 July 1978, in Nottingham) is a professional footballer playing as a defender, currently playing for Bedworth United, having been released by Conference North team Solihull Moors. He is the son of former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton. Shilton started his football career with Plymouth Argyle as a trainee in August 1994. Roughly one year later, Shilton was the subject of a 125,000 transfer to Midlands side Coventry City. During his time with the "Sky Blues," Shilton played just six games before moving on to Hartlepool United. After three rather successful seasons with Hartlepool United, Shilton moved back to the Midlands to Kidderminster Harriers.
