During her exploration of Umbria, Lin Arison-co-founder with her late husband, Ted, and Michael Tilson Thomas of the celebrated New World Symphony orchestral academy-finds new joy in music, and begins to forge an understanding of its meaning in her life. Arison teams up with her longtime collaborator, photographer Neil Folberg, whose images of food and musicians in the Umbrian villas and countryside are fantastical and often witty. The book is accompanied by three DVDs: Music al Fresco chronicles the New World Symphony musicians exploring Umbria; MTT on Music, from the San Francisco Symphony's documentary series Keeping Score; and a behind-the-scenes discussion between Tilson Thomas and his longtime friend Frank Gehry, whose new concert hall and campus for the New World Symphony will be completed in Miami in 2010.
