Community Health Promotion Ideas That Work (Paperback, 2nd Revised edition)

, , ,
"Ideas that Work" combines theory and practice to help plan and put into action successful community health promotion programs. Case stories, based on the triumphs and struggles of practitioners in the field, provide a practical frame of reference for the critical issues and principles of successful community health promotion. By highlighting the nuances of human conditions so often excluded from scientifically oriented accounts of public health practice, the case stories impart the knowledge and experience of researchers and practitioners and aid in planning and carrying out effective health promotion programs. "Ideas that Work" will sharpen thinking about health promotion and supply the tools needed to make a difference. New to the second edition of Ideas that Work: Revision Plan Discussion with Kris Ellis. We will focus the content more directly on an audience of students in the classroom. With only modest modification, we can rightfully assert that our book offers students practical, tangible applications of the essential competencies in the seven areas of responsibilities for CHES. We will add a new chapter on evaluation that helps practitioners use the principles of evaluation for program quality assurance. Due to considerable emphasis on the issue of decision making in the determination of problems, the administrative and organizational issues seem underdeveloped. We will add those elements into the current Chapter seven and modify the case story accordingly. We will modify chapter two and incorporate the concepts of social determinants and modify the case story accordingly. New photos will be included in order to add new dimensions to existing stories and one new story.
