Two Months at Kilkee (Hardcover)

This text provides an early account of an emerging holiday resort and its environs, first published in 1836. It allows the reader to journey back in time to a Gaelic-speaking west of Ireland still unravaged by the Great Famine, where the hard life of the common people is presented with sympathy. The book is in effect a travel companion to West Clare, including descriptions of Loop Head, Miltown Malbay, Lahinch, Cliffs of Moher, the Shannon River and Limerick.
