First, it is a collection of 10 essays (nearly all printed here for the first time in English) by one of the world's foremost experts in the nature and evolution of fascism. These illuminate some of its most significant aspects, notably its attempted temporal and anthropological revolution, the dynamics of Nazism as the most virulent manifestation of 'palingenesis', and its postwar development away from interwar paradigms.
