The previous installment was supposed to be the last movie in the series, but with good box office returns another sequel was rapidly deployed. And surprise surprise, Final Destination 5 is actually a step up.
Storyline is "yadda, yadda, yadda"... 1. Movie starts with an explosive disaster with people dying gruesome deaths (check!) 2. Movie rewinds back to reveal kid/teen/young adult actually had a premonition and the disaster hasn't occurred yet (check!) 3. Kid/teen/young adult forewarns some of his friends/colleagues/office rivals and saves a handful of people (check!) 4. But death doesn't like being cheated, so one by one, the survivors fall prey to ingenious yet bloody deaths as they try to cheat fate once again (check!).
It's the same basic plot as all the other films in the franchise, but it's handled a bit better here. The individual deaths are much more suspenseful, with the filmmakers teasing you with so many things that could go wrong, that you sometimes never expect the manner in which some die. There's also more at stake, as the characters learn of a way they can actually save themselves, but at some cost... And the ending has a better-than-expected twist that will make you gasp!
The acting is once again not that great, but that's to be expected if you've seen the previous films. The effects are again top-notch and it's a great way to keep yourself entertained. (4 out of 5, by Carlisle Johnson)

Synopsis
Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and in Final Destination 5 it strikes again.
During the bus ride to a corporate retreat, Sam has a premonition in which he and most of his friends — as well as numerous others — die in a horrific bridge collapse. When his vision ends, events begin to mirror what he had seen, and he frantically ushers as many of his colleagues — including his friend, Peter, and girlfriend, Molly — away from the disaster before Death can claim them.
But these unsuspecting souls were never supposed to survive, and in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.
