- Rankings by a major comics industry reporting service, ICV2.com, showed Manga titles in forty of the top fifty sales spots in major booksellers of graphic novels. (November 2002).
- The How to Draw Manga/Anime market has become popular enough to induce Harper/Collins to launch its on own version: Japanese Comickers: Draw Anime & Manga Like Japan's Hottest Artists.
- According to Amazon sales figures, How to Draw Manga is one of the most popular Japanese anime instruction series available today, along with the How to Draw Anime series.
Japanese anime's presence is growing steadily in a diverse range of industries, including television, film, video, toys, games and book publishing.
- Major video chains such as Blockbuster and Hollywood Video have special sections for Anime titles, while cable TV channels like the Cartoon Network, STARZ, Sci-Fi and MTV regularly feature Anime television shows and film specials.
- The film adaptation of the popular kid's cartoon, Pokemon, debuted at the top of the U.S. box office and grossed $86 million domestically.
