Pastor Phyllis Wilson is a single parent of one child (Dominique R. Dorsey). She obtained a bacheloras degree from DePaul University with a focus in law (family law) on June 10, 2006. She will be attending Trinity International in Dolton, Illinois, pursuing a masteras degree with a focus in urban ministry. As a full-time employee, student, mother, and senior pastor of Promises of God Ministries, she finds time to pursue other areas in the ministry. Family is very important to her, so she has Soul Food Sunday with her family and friends. Being the godmother of two, she spends time with them to ensure that education is a top priority for them.
