Excerpt: ... after his declaring his full and free assent unto llic Westminster Confession and Catechisms as the confession of his faiili, the Synod unanimously and cheerfully complied with his desire of admission as a member of this Synod. The moderator and 3lr. Qnno not having opportunity hcfore, cither in Presbytery or Synod, did now declare their hearty assent unto the Confession of Faith and Catechisms of Westminster, adopting them as thu confession of their faith...: Ordered, That the minutes of the last Synod be read.: . The moderator, with Messrs. Orine, Houston, Pemberton," and Wales, offered the reasons of their absence from the Synod last year, which were sustained. Adjourned till nine o'clock to-morrow morning. 21 day. At 9 o'clock, post preces sederunt qui supra. Mr. Webb's reasons of his absence, by Mr. Dickinson, and Mr. David Evans's reasons for his absence, sent by letter, were sustained. Masters Andrews, Thomson, Pierson, Craighcad, Anderson, and Dickinson, appointed to be a committee for the fund, and for any other business that the Synod shall recommend unto them. Mr. Houston and Mr. Conn appointed to revise the Presbytery book of Philadelphia. Mr. Andrews and Mr. Dickinson appointed to revise the Presbytery book of New Castle. Inquiry being made who had collections for the fund, it was found that Mr. Gillespie had brought something. And it is further most earnestly recom v mended by the Synod to take care that the yearly collections for the fund be not forgotten, but that the respective congregations be earnestly pressed by the ministers to exereise their charity in this matter. The committee for the fund appointed to meet at two o'clock, post merid. Masters Andrews, Cross, Dickinson, Pierson, Craighcad, and Houston, appointed to be the commission...
