The Chroniclers (Paperback)

When the asteroid HC1254 brakes through earth's defences and crashes in the middle of Arizona desert, the world is plunged into nuclear winter. Human ingenuity in the 23rd century prevents extinction. Secondary backup systems like Sky Grid protected the rainforest, and Nano's rebuilt and maintained functional eco systems in strategic points around the globe. Then just when it seemed that man had become like god in recreating the world in his own image things begin to unravel. In reconstituting atmospheric dust, Nano's create in waste martial a thin black layer in the stratosphere blacking out sunlight. The mind of man is incapable of tolerating the endless night. It begins slowly at first, with news of mass suicide and acts of random brutality. Man literally climbs the walls of civilisation and pulls them down, brick by brick. After the great night, when the world lay in ruin the Chroniclers ventured fourth with one sole purpose, to gather and catalogue information on what remained of human heritage.
