Apart from dates of birth and death, the entries contain pertinent details of the subjects' social and regional origins, their school and university attendance and their professional careers. Most of the officials listed cannot be found in other biographical dictionaries. Data evaluated include files relating to their appointment and examination. Each article concludes with a brief index of literature and sources.
