Oppenheimer (DVD)

Sam Waterston stars in this classic seven-part BBC miniseries as nuclear physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who led the team on the Manhattan Project to build the atomic bomb during the Second World War. A brilliant scientist, Oppenheimer begins to be suspected by the military establishment because of his Communist sympathies, and as Oppenheimer begins to realise the scale of the weapon he has helped develop, he becomes increasingly ambivalent, and even hostile, about its eventual use. Peter Banks, David Suchet and Colin Bennett also star.
