Schriftsteller / Writers - Microform (English, German, Microfilm)

The New Series contains some 17,000 articles on 1,500 Jewish writers, lyricists, dramatists and epic poets. It supplements and completes Section III: Writers, and rounds off the view of Jewish literary life in Germany. In the New Series for example, GlA1/4ckel von Hameln (1645a "1724) is represented, as are Marcus and Henriette Herz (1747a "1803, 1764a "1847), Henri Bernstein (1876a "1953), Ossip Dymow (1878a "1959) and Ernst Lissauer (1882a "1937). Thus, a broad spectrum is offered, from the 17th century to National Socialism, and an abundance of new authors and literary works of all genres are presented. References next to the names listed in the index (volume, page) facilitate direct links from the microfiche edition to the Lexikon deutsch-jA1/4discher Autoren (Lexicon of German-Jewish Authors). This enables the user to place information provided by the newspaper articles in the context of the authorsa (TM) lives and works. For all, who are interested in Jewish-German history the Steininger Collection represents an essential extension of their Jewish studies holdings.
