Interesting expansion

Fri, 27 Jan 2017 | Review by: Linda K

This expansion does exactly what it says - takes your sim into the future. When you start a new character, within a few game hours a "mystical portal" will appear on your home lot. Investigate it and a time traveller will step out. Once you help him find some items around your home lot, you will be able to use the portal to visit the future. The future town is the same regardless of which present town you play in. It contains most of the normal town buildings (except the grocery store, see below). Your home in the future is initially a kind of dorm with unassigned bedrooms, a large kitchen, entertainment etc. You can meet residents of the future, including AI robots, and even your own descendants. There are new skills (bot-building, future technology) and most standard items (bed, exercise machine, washing machine, you name it) has a "future" version that does the same and costs similar. One big exception: no more cooking, the future sims use food replicators. So no need for a grocery store, you just tell the machine what you want and it produces the item. You can still plant seeds and harvest them, fish etc so you can make normal meals on a stove but it is not standard procedure. One big advantage for playing in the present if you have this expansion: You can travel to the future and research lotto records at city hall, and then go back to the present and buy a winning lotto ticket. This gives you a much better chance for winning the lotto, the amount varies a lot but can be millions. Finally a non-cheat way to let your sims live a life of luxury.
