Mangrove Cay (Paperback)

I had a dream. For years, I had a desire to find a tropical island and make it my second home. My ideal island was accessible to the United States, not thousands of miles away. When I was given the opportunity to make that dream a reality, I dove in with total commitment. This is a true story of my experiences creating a modest resort on a small remote island in the Bahamas. The plan was to provide an interesting get-a-way adventure for travelers and a side venture of exporting seafood to benefit the islanders financially. Some said it couldn't be done and asked, Did you take leave of your senses? It was an ambitious aspiration, but I believed we could do it. My partners and I had the skill, the desire, and the resources. Mini-adventures and learning the island culture blended with the challenges we encountered as we did our work and dealt with confusing legalities and an ineffective government. ABOUT THE AUTHOR After college one thing led to another and Terrie has been self employed ever since. She learned to enjoy starting and building businesses. Her education was in math and science. However, her businesses were centered on the arts. She created a national wholesale art business, founded and operated an interior design company, and developed a national franchise operation for custom picture framing. Hobbies include music, sports, renovating older houses, and metaphysical studies. Terrie has traveled extensively-for business, and for fun.
