Must have had sufficient general foundry experience and practical machine shop training to be capable of judging whether a casting is sufficiently sound and free from sand, blow holes and other defects for the purpose intended, and must be able to read drawings and make necessary measurements involved in checking castings as to dimensions. Must be familiar with testing machines and apparatus and with physical testing of castings, including proper location and selection of coupons or specimens, and actually performing the laboratory tests, and must be able to accurately record tests and make reports. Should have had experience in general foundry work or machine shop working on metal castings, and some testing laboratory training. SUBSTITUTE OCCUPATIONS 3. Foundry foreman, physical testing laboratory worker, foreman machinist. INSPECTOR, CLOTH AND EQUIPMENT 49-d IAJOP DUTIES 1.
