Whilst general Brock was thus hastening his prc-j parations for the relief of Amhurstsburg, the prospects of the American army under general were becoming every day iuoic unfavorable, ami their situation more critical. Tle intelligence of the fall of Michilimacinac had reached them, whichi 8 they knew m'lst expose them to an attack of the Indians in the one quarter, at the same time that they were threatened in another by the force approach-ing under cant.
