In General Assembly, October 14th, 1808. i Resolved, That a committee of three members from this house be appointed, to wait ia the Rev. Tilton Eastman, present him the thanks of the house, foi n: s sermon delivered 011 ele&ion day, and request a copy for the press. Members chosen, Msssrs. Knapp, Kinne and Ware. The petition of the inhabitants of Hydepark, praying for the alteration of the name of said town, was read and referred to Messrs. Hinman, R. Parker, and Damon. The petition of sundry inhabitants of Cornwall and Whiting, praying for the establishment of a company of cavalry, was read and referred to a committee of five. Members chosen, Messrs. Cahoon, Leavitt, Griswold, Graves, and Mason. The petition ot Lovell Johnson, and Rebeckah Johnson, was read and referred to a committee of three. Members chosen. Messrs. Hunt, Noyes, and Dennison. Mr. M illary, secretary to the governor and council, appeared in the house, and infer el, that the council had concurred with the house, in appointing a commit ee to wait on his excellency ls;-c Tichenor, and inform bim of his election to the office of governor of this state, and that they had appointed the honorable Damel Chipman a committee on the part of the council.
