This class of" verbs is much more numerous than in the preceding languages, but their irregularities are chier confined to the perfect tense of the present of the indicative and past participle. Some verbs are also irregular in the present of the indicative; whenever it is the case, the irregularity takes place in the present subjunctive, and in the imperative. When a verb is contracted in the infinitive mood, it is also contracted in the future and conditional With a very few exceptions, the second person, singular, and the first and second plural of the preterite are regular. The first and second persons, plural, are also regular in the present of the indicative and subjunctive, and in the imperative. In conjugating irregular verbs, we will give only the tenses which are irregular. There are in Italian but four simple verbs in the first conjugation, which are irregular, viz: andare, dare, fare, stare. Andare, to go, andando, andato. Ind.
