This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated.1918 Excerpt: ... TEXT OF CANONICI MISC. 528 AND TRANSLATION. In editing the Latin text the following principles have been followed: --Contractions universally recognised are not indicated in the text. Italics are reserved in order to indicate that the editor is departing from the reading of the MS. Canonici Misc. 528, which is the basis. Where a letter or word is changed, that letter or word is put in italics and the MS. reading given in a footnote: where a letter or word or even a sentence is supplied, it is placed in italics between square brackets. In order to render the text more easily legible, the capitalisation of the MS. has not been followed: all proper names are spelt with capitals, whether the MS. does so or not: and capitals not required for proper names or for the beginning of sentences are not kept. For the sake of uniformity, v has been used throughout initially, and u in all other positions. The Latinity of the text is often peculiar and sometimes bad: obvious mistakes have been corrected, but peculiarities of usage, such as the use of se and stbi, where the corresponding forms of is, tile or ipse would be expected, have been left. The sections of the text have been numbered: the numbers used are for convenience of reference the same as those used by Lemmens in his edition in Documenta Antigua Franciscana.
