In this gorgeously illustrated, full-colour graphic memoir, Stan Lee - comic book legend and co-creator of Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, the Incredible Hulk and a legion of other Marvel superheroes - shares his iconic legacy and the story of how modern comics came to be. Stan Lee is a man who needs no introduction. The most legendary name in the history of comic books, he was the leading creative force behind Marvel Comics, and brought to life - and into the mainstream - some of the world's best-known heroes and most infamous villains throughout his career. His stories - filled with superheroes struggling with personal hang-ups and bad guys who possessed previously unseen psychological complexity - added wit and subtlety to a field previously locked into flat portrayals of good v evil. Lee put the human in superhuman and, in doing so, created a new mythology for the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In this beautifully illustrated graphic memoir - illustrated by celebrated artist Colleen Doran - discover the true story behind the man, written with the same inimitable wit, energy and offbeat spirit that he brought to the world of comics. Moving from his impoverished childhood in Manhattan to his early days writing comics, through his military training films during World War II and the rise of the Marvel empire in the 1960s to the current cinematic resurgence, Amazing Fantastic Incredible documents the life of a man and the legacy of an industry and career. This funny, moving and incredibly honest memoir is a must-have for collectors and fans of comic books and graphic novels of every age.

Just over 225 years ago, one of the most incredible odysseys in human history took place. 1,500 men and women were crammed aboard 11 ships and transported to the other side of the planet. They were criminals, outcasts, renegades: the scum of England. Having travelled over 24,000km, across three oceans, they arrived at a country that did not yet exist. For some, it was a one-way trip to hell; for others, it proved an unexpected chance of a new life. Bollee and Nicloux's 500-page masterpiece is an accurate, perceptive and sympathetic account of the birth of Australia.

1973, a twenty-year-old Steve MacManus joined Fleetway Publications in London as a sub-editor on one of the UK's top adventure titles, Valiant. Within six years, he would rise to become editor of the company's most celebrated weekly, 2000 AD, shepherding it through its `Golden Age' as he commissioned numerous hit series such as The Ballad of Halo Jones, Slaine, Bad Company, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis the Warlock and more, ensuring its place as the most influential comic Britain has ever produced. For many he remains the definitive editor of the multi-award-winning SF anthology. Now, in this warm and witty memoir, MacManus lifts the lid on the fiercely creative environment that was British comics in the 1970s and `80s - from the hugely successful launch of Battle to the controversial censorship of Action, from the brief life of Starlord to the stellar rise of 2000 AD and Judge Dredd, he details the personalities at play and the corporate politics and deadline battles he and others engaged in on a daily basis. With keen insight, MacManus reveals how against all odds 2000 AD defined comics for a generation and became a global phenomenon - one that would spearhead a revolution in the graphic arts that is still felt today.
For over 35 years, 2000 AD - 'The Galaxy's Greatest Comic' - has dominated the British comics' industry delivering stories and characters which have etched their way into the cultural psyche. Superman's story, and those of Batman, Wonder Woman, and hundreds of other DC Comics characters, are all told in The Golden Age of DC Comics. Expanded from the Eisner Award-winning XL book, 75 Years of DC Comics, this edition offers readers the ultimate insight on DC's first decades, from its pulp origins up to the comic-book burnings of the McCarthy '50s. pulp novelist, more than a bit of a carny, and the (self-declared)
inventor of the lie detector. He was also the creator of "Wonder
Woman," the comic that he used to express two of his greatest
passions: feminism and women in bondage.
