Springsteen On Broadway is the new album of music and stories by Bruce Springsteen, and the soundtrack to the Netflix show of the same name which airs in December 2018. The album is the complete live solo acoustic performance of the show.
Based on his worldwide best-selling autobiography 'Born to Run', Springsteen On Broadway is a unique evening with Bruce, his guitar, a piano, and his very personal stories. In addition, the show features a special appearance by Patti Scialfa.
Bruce Springsteen's historic sold-out series of performances of his one man show began previews on October 3, 2017 and officially opened October 12, 2017. The show was extended three times after its initial eight-week run, and ran on Broadway at The Walter Kerr Theatre through December 15, 2018, bringing the total number of performances to 236.
For Katherine Jenkins, her latest studio album, GUIDING LIGHT, represents the culmination of a deeply emotional journey which began when her beloved father died and found a new path when she became a mother.
It is an album which speaks of life, hope, acceptance and a universal spirituality. A collection of songs in which to find meaning and inspiration.
Walls is the stunning new album from Barbra Streisand. It finds Barbra exploring both her concerns and hopes for the future in a collection filled with beautiful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics.
In addition to the three original tunes which the Oscar-winning songwriter contributed to, the songs explore topics near to the celebrated artist's heart. Streisand also brings a fresh perspective to the classic songs "Imagine" and "What A Wonderful World," and the Bacharach/David pop standard "What The World Needs Now."
The penultimate song that Streisand sings is a timely one called "Take Care Of This House" by the legendary composer Leonard Bernstein and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner.
'Resistance Is Futile, the band's 13th studio album, heralds a return to a classic Manics sound described by the band as "widescreen melancholia". The songs on the album are the first recorded in the band’s new Door to the River studio (near Newport).
Of their first new recordings in four years, the band said: "The main themes of ‘Resistance is Futile’ are memory and loss; forgotten history; confused reality and art as a hiding place and inspiration. It’s obsessively melodic - in many ways referencing both the naive energy of ‘Generation Terrorists’ and the orchestral sweep of ‘Everything Must Go’. After delay and difficulties getting started, the record has come together really quickly over the last few months through a surge of creativity and some old school hard work."
With luscious arrangements surrounding his rich vocals, the multi-Grammy Award winning artist's 8th album is his most romantic record to date.
Celebrating 25 years in show business, the iconic R&B vocal group Boyz II Men return with their new album Under The Streetlight, featuring a personal selection of timeless songs chosen by founding member Nathan Morris, tenor Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris, plus one original song - all with a Boyz II Men twist.
‘The Capitol Studios Sessions’ is the highly anticipated album from Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.
Goldblum, who has been playing the piano since he was a child, has performed with his jazz band at venues in Los Angeles and New York City over the past few decades. When he’s not filming, the actor hosts a weekly jazz variety show at LA’s Rockwell Table and Stage. Frequented by locals and A-listers alike, the show intersperses Goldblum’s love of jazz with his passion and skills at improvised comedy.
The atmosphere and energy of these shows is captured perfectly on this album, which Jeff credits to producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Madeleine Peyroux). For the recording, Larry recreated the buzz of The Rockwell at the legendary Capitol Studios. The studio was transformed into a jazz club – food and drink was served to an invited live studio audience of Rockwell regulars, friends and family.
This album lives in that magical area where artists and audiences meet. There is a joyful sense of anything-can-happen and a spirit of creative generosity—in how Jeff speaks to his fans, how he accompanies guest singers and soloists, and especially in how Jeff comps.
