for soprano and baritone soloists, SATB chorus, and the composer's original chamber instrumentation This edition presents Faure's masterpiece in a form which accords with his original intention that it should be a liturgical Requiem with accompaniment of organ and chamber ensemble. The 1893 version is an expansion of Faure's original, prepared by the composer for a performance at the Church of the Madeleine in Paris and containing two additional movements, the Offertoire and the Libera me. In contrast to the fully orchestrated version that was published in 1900, this edition preserves the original chamber instrumentation, and it also contains a full English translation by John Rutter. Complete orchestral and vocal material is available on hire/rental, and the vocal score, full score, and parts are also available on sale.
for SATB and piano, or brass quintet, timpani, and organ Chilcott's four-movement setting of the Latin Gloria will be welcomed by choirs looking for an uplifting and jubilant concert work. The driving 'Gloria in excelsis Deo' features syncopated rhythms and an upper-voice semi-chorus part in the 'Et in terra pax' section, which can be taken from the main choir. The tender yet majestic 'Domine Deus' leads into the lyrical 'Qui tollis peccata mundi', with interweaving melodic lines that express the solemnity of the text. Finally, the dancing 'Quonium tu solus sanctus' keeps singers on their toes with its upbeat tempo and lively cross-rhythms, culminating in exultant 'Amen's for a suitably exhilarating ending.
Filled with the spontaneous melodic invention and rhythmic variety that characterize his orchestral works, Dvorak's most celebrated creation, Symphony No. 9, "From the New World," echoes the folk spirit of his native Czechoslovakia as well as American influences. And the delightful freshness and uninhibited emotionalism of Symphony No. 8 have contributed to its lasting success.
An exciting collection of twenty new spiritual arrangements for SATB choirs, specially commissioned for this volume, compiled and edited by Bob Chilcott. Taking a fresh look at these timeless songs, including both familiar favorites and less well-known gems, the ten arrangers bring to these pieces the fruits of their diverse musical backgrounds and experiences. The arrangements feature a wide range of styles, from introspective to ecstatic, with a mixture of large- and small-scale pieces, both unaccompanied and accompanied. Spirituals for Choirs provides singers with an inspirational, moving, and above all, enjoyable repertoire.

for SATB and organ This gentle carol sets the text of Isaac Watts' popular 'Cradle Song' to the music of Charles Villiers Stanford's lullaby, 'Golden slumbers, kiss your eyes', from his Six Songs (op. 19), written in 1882. Each of the four verses presents the melody in a different form: the arrangement opens with a section for solo or tutti tenors before the choral parts present delicate harmonies, and the final verse introduces an elegant descant. Also available for SS.
for upper voices and organ This radiant anthem was commissioned as part of the celebrations to mark Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee. It was first performed at the Service of Thanksgiving on 5 June 2012 at St Paul's Cathedral by choristers from the Chapel Royal, St Paul's, and an expressly auditioned 'Diamond Choir' of young singers from around the UK. Setting a text adapted from Proverbs 8 by Michael Hampel, Precentor of St Paul's Cathedral, that implores the listener to place their trust in a faithful God, Todd employs arching melodies and beautifully simple harmonies that are underpinned by a gentle organ accompaniment. With its peaceful simplicity and sparkling tranquillity, The Call of Wisdom would make an affecting addition to any service or concert. There is also a version for SATB.
for soprano soloist, mixed choir, and orchestra or ensemble (with organ) This is one of the best-loved and most widely performed choral works of the twentieth century. The texts (in Latin and English) are from the Missa pro Defunctis, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Psalms. The seven sections form an arch-like meditation on the themes of life and death: prayers on behalf of all humanity, psalms, personal prayers to Christ, and in the central Sanctus an affirmation of divine glory. The full scores have been edited and engraved by the composer himself and are presented in handsome, cloth-bound editions. Vocal and orchestral material is available on hire.
for SATB or SSAA, solo cello, djembe, and piano This solo cello part accompanies Sarah Quartel's evocative five-movement choral work Snow Angel, which explores themes of love, rebirth, and beauty through the eyes of children and the heavenly army of angels that watch over them. The haunting and poignant cello line is woven through the work. This cello part is compatible with the upper and mixed voice versions of Snow Angel.
This edition contains all the scales and broken chords required for the Grade 1 ABRSM Piano exam. Provides suggested fingering and a helpful introduction including advice on preparing for the exam.
for SATB unaccompanied Setting a fifteenth-century English text containing some short Latin passages, this is a joyful, dance-like carol with a medieval feel. The spirited, lilting melody begins in the sopranos and altos but is passed round the choir, while the other voices add stirring harmonies and bell-like drones to the texture. Now may we singen was originally published in the New Horizons collection The Ivy and the Holly.
for SATB, optional baritone solo, cello, and organ or string orchestra This is a tuneful epiphany carol, setting a text by the composer. Underpinned by a beautiful cello solo, the vocal lines are rich and flowing, and the organ supports the choir with warm harmonies. The cello part is published separately and an accompaniment for strings is available on hire.
for SATB unaccompanied This heartfelt setting of words by the composer begins with a pianissimo drone over which the sopranos introduce the expressive melody. With lush harmonies, moments of dynamic intensity, and an overriding sense of awe, it would make an ideal centrepiece for a Christmas or Epiphany concert or service. A version for SSAA is also available.
Based on the popular Chinese story 'King Chu Doffs his Armour', this concerto is influenced by both Western and Eastern traditions. It is constructed around a classical Chinese solo pipa work (of the same name), and retains the structure of the traditional manuscript. The musical influences are distinctly Chinese, but Zhou Long adds an introduction, cadenza, and coda in keeping with the Western concerto tradition.
Dip into this stockingful of easy Christmas music for flute! Unwrap a traditional carol, dance to the 'Skaters' Waltz' and a 'Christmas Calypso', and pull a cracker full of solos and duets. With words to sing along, chords for guitar or keyboard, and a fantastic play-along CD, Flute Time Christmas is the perfect gift for any young flautist.
for upper voices, SATB, and piano or orchestra The Seeds of Stars is a resplendent setting of a philosophical text by Charles Bennett. The rippling piano part provides a shimmering accompaniment to radiant and expressive vocal lines, and Chilcott effectively contrasts upper- and mixed-voice sections with stirring passages for all voices. Reflecting the vivid imagery of the text, the upper voices soar above the choir during climatic moments, but also bring the piece to its gentle, profound close. An orchestral accompaniment is available on hire/rental.
Set of parts for the brass accompaniment to John Rutter's popular setting of the Te Deum: a hymn of praise that is appropriate for choral concerts, as well as for use in sacred settings. The music is jubilant, straightforward, and appealing, with extrovert writing. An accompaniment for full orchestra is also available on rental.
