for SATB and piano/orchestra John Rutter's rousing drinking song Good Ale, which was originally published as part of his cycle of six choral settings with small orchestra When Icicles Hang, is full of spirit and character. An accompaniment for orchestra is available on hire/rental.
for SATB and organ This is a flexible hymn for general worship, with an original hymn tune ('Charleston') by Howard Helvey. Either Francis Scott Key's 'Lord, with glowing heart I'd praise thee' or Charles Wesley's 'Love divine, all loves excelling' may be sung, and Helvey employs hymnody's most popular traits, including a majestic organ introduction, an emphatic unison first verse, and a soaring soprano descant.
for SATB (with divisions) unaccompanied This reflective and affirmatory communion motet features fluid shifts between 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures and expressive melodic lines that are often underpinned by a drone.
for SATB choir, brass quintet, organ and percussion This engaging 15-minute cantata combines several popular carols to create a performance full of Christmas spirit. Through creative re-harmonization, rhythmic variation, and imaginative linking passages, McDowall conjures up a joyful atmosphere, delighting with familiar and surprising material in equal measure. A rousing finale weaves together several of the tunes to bring the piece to a jubilant close. Instrumental material is available on hire/rental.
for SATB (with divisions) and piano This dramatic and majestic anthem sets verses from Isaiah, starting with an appeal to God to show himself and his power, followed by an admission of human sin, finishing with an affirmation that we are all God's people. The choral parts are largely homophonic, except for an effective unaccompanied fugal central section, and optional high soprano notes are included towards the end for added dramatic effect. The piano part makes full use of the instrument's range and features vibrant scalic and arpeggiated flourishes, tremolos, and rhythmic, accented chords.
for SATB and organ Setting the George Herbert poem 'Whitsunday' from the 1633 collection The Temple, this lilting, gentle anthem is particularly useful for Whit Sunday services. Syncopations and duplets provide rhythmic interest, with memorable melodies, sumptuous harmonies, and contrasting textures making this a rewarding anthem for performer and listener alike.
for SSATB and piano Originally the second movement of Chilcott's choral work Five Days that Changed the World, this poignant setting of words by Charles Bennett reflects on one of the most significant events of our time. The choral parts are melodic and interweaving, and the flowing piano part provides harmonic support for the voices throughout.
for children's choir, SATB chamber choir, and SATB double choir This monumental cantata for massed forces was commissioned by David Hill and The Bach Choir and premiered as part of the 2012 BBC Proms. Setting a specially commissioned text by Charles Bennett, Chilcott skilfully uses both metred and unmetered sung and spoken lines to highlight the text's environmental message. While the musically interlinked choirs sing of humanity's negligence towards nature in a series of dream images, the endearing and innocent tunes of the children's choir ultimately evoke a sense of hope for the future. Creating a unique opportunity for adult and children's choirs to collaborate, this captivating piece offers a fun and educational performance experience for singers both young and old.
for SATB and piano or chamber ensemble Written in 1978 for the choir of Clare College, Cambridge, this gentle, dreamy lullaby has gone on to become one of John Rutter's most popular carols. Full scores and instrumental parts (flute, oboe, harp, and strings) are available on hire and on sale. Also available in a version for SSAA.
for SATB and organ Setting a section from The Blessed Virgin Compared to the Air we Breathe by Gerard Manley Hopkins, this Marian piece opens with an extended soprano passage, underpinned by soft yet characterful organ writing. Several hallmarks of Jackson's style are evident, including soaring, melismatic soprano lines, sonorous harmonies, and repeated organ motifs. The result is a captivating and emotive work for church and concert use.
for SATB and organ or orchestra Mack Wilberg's arrangement of 'Old Hundredth', paired with William Kethe's popular hymn of exaltation, builds from a simple opening to a rich-textured, rousing conclusion, with a soaring soprano descant for the last verse. An alternative ending is included, providing the option of finishing the piece more softly if preferred. An orchestral accompaniment is available on hire/rental.
for SATB and piano four-hands or orchestra This short, energetic piece sets words by contemporary hymn-writer Mary Louise Bringle. The text is full of positivity and hope, and Wilberg's use of a 7/8 time signature keeps the verses propelling forward joyously, while undulating quavers shape the refrains. Several key changes are supported by a continuously rhythmic accompaniment in the form of piano duet or large orchestra, and an instrumental interlude precedes the third and final verse.
for SAT and piano or organ Originally published in the collection Alan Bullard Anthems, this optimistic setting of Jan Struther's famous text is perfectly suited to performance at a variety of occasions, including at weddings, funerals, and services throughout the year. Bullard's original melody is expressive and graceful, paying homage to the message of the words, and the supportive and melodious accompaniment may be performed on piano or organ.

Passion Music continues the fusion of jazz and choral music so successfully blended in Will Todd's Mass in Blue. The structure highlights different points in the Passion story, beginning with a new setting of 'Greater love has no man' and including an evocative Stabat Mater, a movement focusing on the seven last words of Christ, and a setting of 'Were you there when they crucified my Lord?'. While some sections are reflective, Todd also makes full use of his understanding of energetic jazz and gospel. The vocal soloist is given plenty of expressive freedom, singing both with the choir and independently to achieve the characteristic jazz-soul style. The seven-piece jazz accompaniment, which is presented in the vocal score as a piano reduction for rehearsal only, completes the ensemble. The full score and set of parts for the jazz accompaniment are available on sale and hire. A complete backing track and individual rehearsal tracks for the vocal parts are also available to download.
for SATB and organ This short collection presents the complete set of hymns from Chilcott's stunning setting of the St John Passion. The five well-known hymn texts are set to new, original melodies, which are also intended for performance by the audience or congregation. The parts for SATB choir are simple yet beautifully crafted, with a soaring soprano descant to complete four of the hymns. Perfect for liturgical use during holy week, the set would also be ideal for concert performance.
for SATB, percussion, and cello A work on the subject of pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela, To the Field of Stars features a variety of texts on the nature of travel and worship. Underpinned by evocative cello and percussion lines, Jackson's strong choral writing offers fragments of spoken lines and unexpected melodic twists, while a refrain recurs in a new musical guise after each movement. The piece reaches its climax in the sixth movement when quiet, freely repeated choral notes ring out against cello and crotales, creating a musical 'field of stars'. Mysterious and beautiful, this piece offers an immensely rewarding challenge for choirs. Percussion and cello parts are available on hire/rental.
