THOUGH in a sense all roads lead to the Klondike, the gold-seeker does not become especially interested in a choice of routes until he reaches the Pacific seaboard. Then, whether he be at San Frascisco, Portland, Seattle, Tacoma or Victoria, the problem of "how to get there" becomes an engrossing one. Time, money and danger and the season of the year must all be considered, and the question is too often more perplexing than the unposted traveler can successfully grapple alone and hope to get the best solution. At the present time, in addition to the established routes, there are dozens of projected transportation schemes in the air, all possible to develop into untility on short notice. The wise argonaut, then, when settling upon his itinerary, will consult the latest sources of information--railroad and steamship literature and the folders and guides of land transportation concerns--and make up his mind accordingly. In a general way there are two main routes into the gold fields --the one entirely by water, via St. Michael's and the Yukon; the other by water and land, via steamer to Fort Wrangel or Juneau, and then over the passes and down the rivers to Dawson City.
