When set to 2.0 MPx resolution (1920 x 1080), the range for detection and identification increases fourfold or twofold when compared to VGA resolution, and the monitored area measures 400%. For example, when using an 8 mm lens, facial features can be identified at a distance of 16 metres! The camera displays colour images in daylight. When illumination drops below 0.5 lux, the B/W mode is activated and the mechanical IR filter is swivelled to the side. The images are then fed into the network and viewed on a browser or using the VMS software supplied. A top feature of this camera is the SD card slot for saving images on a 16 GB or 32 GB SD card. Thanks to the progressive scan 1/2.7" CMOS sensor, the images are transmitted in real-time (25 images/sec) as a flicker-free full-screen image. Notification is sent via e-mail when motion is detected by the built-in sensor, and a recording device (PC, HDD) is triggered automatically thanks to the network storage function. The camera also reacts to noises detected by the built-in microphone. Quick installation – no extra power lines needed thanks to Power over Ethernet (PoE). The additional analogue video output makes it easy to set up the camera equipment using a test monitor.
