(h) Jacob4 Moore. (247) David3 Fite (Leonard,2 Johannes1), son of (8) Leonard2 Fite and Margareth Cross, was born in Lincoln County, N. C., June 15, 1795. He moved with his parents to Tennessee the year following, and when grown lived in Middle Tennessee. He was married twice; first, January 30, 1822, to Nancy D. Daughtery, born February 12, 1805, who bore him two sons and a daughter; she died May 16, 1830. David3 married, second, Elizabeth Griffin, the 14th day of May, 1835, by whom he had one son and one daughter. David3 Fite died May 1, 1862. The year previous, when present at his mother's birthday celebration, David had four children living and eight grandchildren. Issue of (247) David3 Fite was as follows: (346) James4 Monroe Fite, p. 89. (347) Thomas4 Bethel Fite, p. 89. (348) Caroline4 Duncan Fite; born March 13, 1829; died December 23, 1837. (349) Leonard4 Lamberson Fite; born May 19, 1836; died from a wound, in the hospital, in 1863, during the Civil War; unmarried. (350) Margaret4 Elizabeth Fite, p. 91. (346) James4 Monroe Fite (David,3 Leonard,2 Johannes1), eldest son of David3 Fite and his first wife, Nancy Daughtery, was born in Smithville, Tenn., November 30, 1823. He was married to Sarah West, and died in Dallas County, Arkansas, near Princeton, April 9, 1877. Issue of (346) James4 Monroe Fite and Sarah West, as far as known: (351) John5 D.
