This 1918 history of World War I at sea includes an analysis of the performance of the British Navy at the Battle of Jutland--extremely critical of both the British Grand Fleet and Admiral Jellicoe, and hence highly controversial. Jellicoe himself ascribed Pollen's criticism to the fact that he had personally turned down a number of Pollen's inventions, including his fire-control system.
